I have the Pearl Elite knickers as well as the regular bib shorts. The bib shorts stay in place much better because they are not stretched over your knees, which are constantly in motion on the bike. On any ride over 50 miles, I have much more saddle irritation wearing these knickers than I do the traditional bib shorts, because the chamois moves with my knees. No good!
Quality-wise, these are every bit as good as the regular bibs (quite good). I just don't like the knicker fit.

Excellent fit/function. And the white side panels do provide greater side visibility in low lite.
One gripe ... the white panels are too thin and my wife complains she can "see through" them ;-)

Well these are my first pair of knickers so I don't know that my review is creditable. Especially based on the fact that it's only my 2nd pair of cycling pants\shorts at all! Got into cycling 4 months ago and bought some Bellwether shorts so that's all I really have to compare these to. The material that these knickers is made of is pretty much the exact same as a rash guard. So basically it's one big rash guard with a crotch pad. The pad itself is thinner than my Bellwether shorts but is VERY surprisingly comfortable. I'd even argue that my butt feels more padded with these knickers than my shorts.
I've had a chance to ride in a bit colder weather these last couple of weeks and one things for sure....having my knees covered makes a great deal of difference to me! They stay warm and loose and the extra support feels great.
So all in all...love these things and want to buy another pair when I can!
