Good for fall, not for winter
By Eric from Phila.
Very nicely constructed, nice materials. 2 problems. First, too much material behind the knee so it quickly bunches up, rubs and gets uncomfortable. Second, this is advertised on Pearl's website as a winter cycling tight. No way. Winter in Georgia, perhaps. It is basically a waterproof membrane with a very thin fabric backing and no actual insulation. There needs to be some fleece added on the inside of the thigh panels and desperately needs to have fleece added to the groin area. Think of it this way, 1/4" sheet of stainless steel is waterproof and windproof, but it gets mighty cold mighty fast.
My legs rarely get cold but I just rode 6 miles in 27 degrees and my thighs felt exactly as cold as my unprotected face. Moderate weight lycra has equal thermal protection.
All that being said, probably great down to 40 degrees. Just expect to freeze when it goes below freezing.
